COMMITMENT

COMMITMENT AND PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS

Rise Up Children’s Choir is composed of three ensembles, each led by a passionate and talented team of educators - Ignite, Rise and Amplify.

Commitment Matters

At Rise Up Children’s Choir, enrollment is a full-season commitment. Our program is intentionally designed as a cohesive, performance-based experience. Participation is not month-to-month. Parents are responsible for the full season’s tuition, regardless of early withdrawal.

Each ensemble functions as a team, where every singer plays an important role in creating a balanced sound, learning choreography, and preparing for recordings, music videos, and live performances. Consistent membership is essential to maintaining musical integrity and ensuring that every student—and the group as a whole—can succeed.

  • Regular weekly rehearsals are held September 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027.

  • Performances, audio recordings, and music video filming are scheduled throughout the season with a busier schedule through the holiday season from mid-November through December 20, 2026.

  • Additional special rehearsals (such as technical rehearsals, run-throughs and sound checks), performances, audio recordings and music video filmings, and the Rise choir tour continue through June, 2027.

We ask families to carefully consider this commitment before accepting placement, so that each student can fully benefit from the experience—and contribute meaningfully to the success of the group.

All Members Commit to:

  • Weekly in-person rehearsals

  • Independent at-home practice - Independent learning is essential. Students are expected to learn their music on their own so rehearsals can focus on ensemble work - similar to a theatrical production model.

  • Participation in performances, recordings, and video projects

  • Ignite and Rise Kickoff Camp on Saturday, August 28, 2026 - Kickoff Camp is a vital part of our season, as it lays the foundation for a strong, connected community. From the very beginning, we focus on building ensembles—not just teaching music—so students form meaningful relationships, establish trust, and learn to work together from day one.

  • Amplify Retreat (August or September 2026, Dates TBA)

Parent/Guardian Commitment and Expectations

Parent involvement is an essential part of the Rise Up experience. Families play a meaningful role in supporting our organization and helping our students succeed. Each family is asked to contribute 10 hours of volunteer service per year, whether by sharing a specific skill or simply helping with check-in, events, or on-set support during filming.

Parents also play an active role in each student’s success. All parents commit to:

  • Attend mandatory orientation on Tuesday, August 31, 2026 at 6:00 PM for Utah Valley Ignite and Rise students; Wednesday, September 1, 2026, at 6:00 PM for Ignite and Rise Salt Lake Valley students; or Monday, September 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM for Amplify.

  • Support consistent attendance and preparation

  • Help students manage schedules and performance/recording commitments

  • Pay membership dues and fees in a timely manner

FINANCIAL COMMITMENT - TUITION AND FEES

Tuition is due on the first of each month from September through June. A $5 “sibling discount” is offered per child for members in the same immediate family.

  • Ignite: $80 per month

  • Rise: $95 per month

Our Wardrobe & Production Fee is a comprehensive annual fee that covers all attire and production costs for the season—eliminating additional per-project charges. Formal concert attire is provided and rented for the year, with sizing flexibility as students grow. For casual events and music videos, students pull from their own wardrobes with support from our team. The fee also includes professional recording sessions, video production, theater/space rentals, and artist collaborations.

Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify. Applicaiton materials are available upon acceptance to the program.

AMPLIFY 2027 COMPETITION TOUR

Each year, Amplify competes in Varsity Vocals International Championship of High School A Cappella - the one featured in the film “Pitch Perfect” - and/or another comparable a capella convention which requires extra rehearsals and travel in the months of January through March. Full participation from all the members of the group is required. The total cost of travel is assessed once we know the location of the competitions/conventions in the fall, but we suggest students set aside $2000 for the year for travel.

RISE IRELAND TOUR | JUNE 8-19, 2027.
Dates subject to minimal change

Participation is optional, but all Rise choir members are invited to go on tour. Registration is due by September 15, 2026. Pricing and pay schedule to be published soon.

Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Rise Up Children’s Choir is heading to Ireland to perform at the internationally acclaimed Limerick Sings Choral Festival—a vibrant celebration of music, culture, and connection that brings choirs from around the world together in one unforgettable experience.

This tour is more than a performance trip—it’s a full immersion into the beauty, history, and magic of Ireland. Sing in breathtaking historic venues, collaborate with other talented young musicians, and represent Rise Up on a global stage. Between festival performances, we’ll explore iconic landmarks like Bunratty Castle, where we’ll enjoy a lively medieval banquet complete with music and entertainment, and Blarney Castle, where students can kiss the legendary Blarney Stone.

We’ll take in the stunning landscapes of Ireland—from the dramatic coastline of the Cliffs of Moher to the charm of the Aran Islands—and experience authentic Irish culture through music, dance, and unforgettable shared moments. Along the way, there will be opportunities to perform in beautiful churches and community settings, bringing our music to new audiences across the country.
