Rise Up Children’s Choir is now holding open auditions until
for the 2026-2027 season.

We are casting passionate young performers from diverse backgrounds who love to sing, perform, and inspire others through music. 

 

Rise Up Children’s Choir is more than a choir—it’s a professional, multi-disciplinary performance program where young artists create, record, and perform at the highest level while growing as musicians, collaborators, and storytellers

OUR ENSEMBLES

 

• Ignite is our beginning-level ensemble for children ages 6 to 12. No audition required. Registration is now open. Click the “registration” tab to sign up.
   

• Rise is our premier performing ensemble for youth ages 8 to 18. Video audition is required for placement. See instructions below.
   

• Amplify is our elite, award-winning a cappella ensemble for youth ages 13 to 18. Audition and callback required for placement. A live open call audition is being held on Monday, June 8 at 4:00 PM, or you can submit a video audition following the instructions below.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR RISE AND AMPLIFY
 

Record Two Videos (Be sure to follow the Audition Video Guidelines Below)
 

1. Sing a 16 to 32 bar cut of a pop, musical theater or contemporary inspirational song with live accompaniment (not in frame) or to an instrumental track (someone else starts/stops it).
    

2. Sing scales from the bottom of the child’s range to the top. Videos with instructions for the scales can be found at the two links below. Choose the scales video that best suits you. We only need ONE scales video.

UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO
 

Upload your video to YouTube or Google Drive by the requisite due date.

Videos submitted via YouTube must be set to UNLISTED as those set to “private” cannot be viewed and will not be considered. Videos submitted via Google Drive must be set to be seen by anyone with the link as videos set to “restricted” cannot be viewed and will not be considered.

LIVE AMPLIFY AUDITION INFO FOR JUNE 8

What to Expect
 

If you are attending this audition, no video submission is required. If you would like to be considered for Amplify, simply attend the live audition and come prepared with the assigned music below.
 

What to Prepare
 

• Two 16 to 32-bar solos from pop or rock songs, preferably one ballad and one up-tempo. No musical theatre selections, please. Auditioners will be asked to sing a cappella without a track. 

• At the link below is a folder with practice tracks, sheet music and vocal part assignments for the song “Head Above Water.” Please learn the vocal part that is most comfortable for you. While you may use your sheet music in the audition, being memorized is preferable.  
   

PRACTICE TRACKS, SHEET MUSIC AND VOCAL PART ASSIGNMENTS
 

Interested in vocal percussion? We'd love to hear what you can do! Students interested in beatboxing or vocal percussion will have an opportunity to demonstrate those skills during the audition.
 

What We're Looking For
 

Amplify is a highly collaborative ensemble, and we're looking for students who demonstrate:
 

• Strong musicianship

• Vocal independence

• Confidence and stage presence

• Positive attitude and work ethic

• Willingness to engage in movement and performance

 

Most importantly, we want to see your personality shine through.

SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS: AUDITION VIDEO GUIDELINES

 

Before You Sing (Slate)

 

At the beginning of your video, clearly state:

 

• Name

• Age

• Song title

 

Song Selection

 

• Age-appropriate pop, musical theatre or contemporary inspirational song

• Showcases range, tone, and musicality

• Must be memorized. 

 

Filming Guidelines

 

• Record horizontally (landscape)

• Frame from mid-thigh or waist up

• Use a tripod or stable surface

• Sing against a plain background with good lighting

• Record in a quiet space (no background noise)

 

Performance Rules

 

• Your performance must be 100% live 

• No vocal editing, tuning or effects

• No microphone

• No earbuds

 

Before Submitting

 

• Watch your full video (check for glitches/audio issues)

• Confirm video and sound are working properly

• Test your submission link
